      The official update for ARMA 2 from 1.00 to 1.07 (including the Steam version, note that Verify file cache and autoupdate will not work properly until the full 1.07 is also out directly on Steam).       ===ARMA WARFARE===
      ArmA Warfare, included as a bonus update in this patch, is a blend of a team-based multiplayer mission and realtime strategy. Two sides (BLUFOR vs. OPFOR) fight for control of the whole map. It is multiplayer map designed for 1 up to 32 players. It also uses other bonus content included in the patch: desert Marines and a modified Southern Sahrani map.

      To start ArmA Warfare game, start multiplayer mission as usual. In the Create game screen select "Southern Sahrani" island. The "Warfare v1.0" and "Warfare v1.0 for 32" players missions appear in the list on the right. Select them to play Warfare. Standard Warfare is the 16 player (8 vs 8) mission. Warfare for 32 players (16 vs 16) is recommended for higher performance systems. See briefing screen of the Warfare mission for more instructions.

      Full ArmA Warfare Manual is included in pdf file in the patch distribution.

      ===BATTLEYE===
      This patch will automatically offer you to install anti cheating software for online games to your ARMA working folder. If you decide not to install Battleye, your patch still will be working but you may not be able to join game servers that will have installed Battleye software for increased anti cheating protection.

      It will install all BattlEye content to a folder "BattlEye" (default is C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\BattlEye or C:\Program Files\Atari\ArmA\BattleEye). If BattlEye was installed, it will be securing online sessions hosted on your server (requiring all clients to have BattlEye also installed) unless it is disabled in server config using line "battlEye = 0;"

      NOTE: BattlEye itself will be run from ARMA's application data folder (default is C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\ArmA\BattlEye) to have write access in order to be able to download/install updates and/or create logs and other BE-related files.

      Arma 3: E3-Teaser-Trailer zeigt die Zerstörung eines Panzers

      Bohemia Interactive zeigt auf der E3 2011 neues Material zu Arma 3. Die Kriegs-Simulation hat eine große Fan-Gemeinde und der Vorgänger erfreut sich großer Beliebtheit. Nun ist ein neuer Teaser-Trailer zum Spiel veröffentlicht worden, der reale Schauspieler beim Aufspüren eines Panzers zeigt. Dieser wird dann anscheinend von Helikoptern zerstört. Außerdem gibt Bohemia mehrere Details zu dem Spiel bekannt.

      So soll sich die Hauptfigur in der Kampagne von einem einfachen Soldaten zu einem Commander hocharbeiten. Dabei kann er unterschiedlichste Waffen und Vehikel benutzen, von einer Pistole bis zu den fortschrittlichsten Waffen-Plattformen. Die Physik-Simulation, die Animationen und der hohe Authentizitäts-Grad sollen Arma 3 auszeichnen und den Spieler tief in die Kriegssimulation ziehen. Dedicated Server sollen für einen guten Multiplayer-Support sorgen, bei dem die Spieler gegeneinander oder miteinander kämpfen können.

      E3 2011: Arma 3 angeschaut

      Auf der E3 2011 konnte PC Games einen ersten Blick auf Arma 3 werfen. Die tschechischen Entwickler haben ein Mega-Projekt in petto. Es gibt eine neue KI, deutlich verbesserte Physik-Effekte, eine riesige Insel und eine dazu passende Unterwasserwelt. Seegefechte und Tauchgänge soll es nämlich jetzt auch geben.

      Arma 2: Free - Gratis-Shooter angekündigt, erster Trailer

      Free2Play liegt im Trend. Bohemia Interactive hat die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt und kündigte noch für den Juni 2011 die Militärsimulation Arma 2: Free an. Dabei handelt es sich um einen kostenlos erhältlichen Ableger von Arma 2, jedoch ohne HD-Grafik, Mod-Support sowie die Kampagnen. Einen Ausblick auf die Gratis-Version gewährt ein erster Trailer.

      Arma 3: E3-Video zeigt erste Spielszenen - Tauchgang und PhysX-Effekte inklusive

      Zwar ist Arma 3 erst zu 20 Prozent fertig gestellt, allerdings hatten die Verantwortlichen vom Entwickler Bohemia Interactive trotzdem eine lauffähige Version ihres Spiels auf der E3 2011 in Los Angeles mit im Gepäck. Die Demo wurde hinter verschlossenen Türen von Creative Director Ivan Buchta vorgeführt. Die Präsentation von Arma 3 hat eine Laufzeit von rund 14 Minuten und demonstriert unter anderem die PhysX-Effekte, das Ragdol-System sowie einen Flug mit einem Kampfhubschrauber. Einen Tauchgang könnt ihr euch im unteren Video ebenfalls zu Gemüte führen. In Arma 3 wird es nämlich auch möglich sein, Geheimaufträge unter Wasser durchzuführen.

      Arma 2 Free: Kostenloser Download des Taktik-Shooters - Trailer veröffentlicht

      Erst kürzlich veröffentlichte Bohemia Interactive Arma 2: Firing Range als App für den Android- und iOS-Markt. Nun versucht der Entwickler den Taktik-Shooter auch unter PC-Spielern bekannter zu machen. Denn Arma 2 wird noch diesen Juni als kostenlose Download-Version verfügbar sein. Arma 2: Free wird nicht alle Features des Original-Spiels enthalten: Die Kampagne, HD-Texturen und der Mod-Support werden in der Free-to-Play-Variante nicht enthalten sein. Dafür kann der Spieler anscheinend auf alle Fahrzeuge und Waffen zurückgreifen.

      Es fallen auch keinerlei zusätzliche Kosten für Arma 2: Free an, denn das Spiel verzichtet auf einen Online-Shop oder Extra-Items. Single- und Multiplayer-Missionen werden zusätzlich angeboten, außerdem bietet der integrierte Level-Editor die Möglichkeit, eigene Einsätze zu kreieren. Spielwelt wird die bekannte Insel Chernarus sein, die in voller Größe zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Die Aktion ist ein geschicktes Marketing-Mittel, denn Bohemia Interactive arbeitet derzeit an Arma 3 und will offensichtlich mehr Spieler für die Taktik-Shooter-Reihe gewinnen. Bis jetzt gibt es keine Screenshots zu Arma 2: Free, allerdings ist bereits ein Trailer zu dem kostenlosen Game erschienen. Diesen Juni soll das Spiel noch erscheinen:

      Arma 3: Informationen zur Kampagne

      Arma 3 wird Militär-Shooter-Fans nächstes Jahr zum Release in eine Kampagne mit Elementen einer offenen Spielwelt stecken. Dies gab Game Designer Ivan Buchta vom tschechischen Entwicklerstudio Bohemia Interactive bekannt. Im Singleplayer-Modus wird es Hauptmissionen geben, die die Story vorantreiben. Zusätzlich wird es Nebenmissionen geben, um beispielsweise Equipment, zusätzliche Informationen, NPC-Support oder Fahrzeuge freizuschalten. Buchta erklärt es anhand folgenden Beispiels: "Euer Hauptziel während einer Mission kann es sein, eine gegnerische Basis zu zerstören. Auf dem Weg dahin könnt ihr zum einen auf eine lokale Guerilla-Truppe treffen und die Führer dieser Gruppe zu einem Ablenkungsversuch eurer Gegner zu überreden. Zum anderen könnte es aber auch sein, dass ihr Informationen findet, die euer eigentliches Missionsziel als fragwürdig erscheinen lassen. Daraufhin braucht ihr weitere Informationen, die ihr über euren Auftraggeber oder über andere Umwege erlangt, um euch letztlich für eine Vorgehensweise entscheiden zu können."

      Gänzlich anders als die Vorgänger soll der Shooter allerdings nicht werden. Aufgaben (Tasks), ein Konversationssystem und sogenannte FSM-Skript-Techniken (Finite State Machine, ein dynamisches und auch geskriptetes KI-System) bleiben erhalten. Die neue Engine bietet den Entwicklern laut Arma 3-Interview Möglichkeiten, vorhandene wie neue Ideen und Konzepte in einem größeren Umfang zu verwirklichen.
